DeepWake: Ocean Angler
Support and FAQ. DeepWake is an open-ocean fishing and diving game for iPhone, iPad and Mac: cast or troll for 45 species from anchovy to humpback, dive the reefs, chart five regions, sell the catch at port and follow the Keeper's logbook. Built from scratch in Swift and Metal with hand-made 3D fish, boats and seabeds.
Getting started
- Which difficulty should I pick?
- Easy lands a fish with one tap on the bite. Medium keeps the fight but the line never snaps. Hard is the full tension model. You can change it any time in Settings › Gameplay.
- Nothing is biting.
- Stop the boat and cast. Within about five seconds the nearest school takes the lure. Trolling (3 to 12 knots) favours fast pelagic fish and needs a school along your line.
- How do I dive?
- Stop the boat and use the Dive button. Surface before your air runs low; the gauge is on the HUD.
- Where do I sell?
- Return to the harbour and tap Dock. Sell, Jobs, the Smokehouse and the Chandlery are all at the dock.
Online features
Game Center and iCloud sync are optional and off by default; turn them on in Pause › Settings › Online. Local co-op needs two devices on the same Wi-Fi or Bluetooth; one hosts, the other joins.
Controls
Touch, keyboard and mouse, trackpad and game controllers are all supported. Controller buttons are shown on screen; the layout can be changed in Settings › Controls.
Troubleshooting
- Low frame rate: lower the graphics preset in Settings › Display. The game also steps down automatically under memory pressure.
- Save missing after reinstall: turn on iCloud sync on both devices and relaunch; the newer save wins and asks before overwriting.
- Co-op cannot find the other device: both devices need Local Network permission (Settings app › DeepWake) and the same Wi-Fi.
