DeepWake: Ocean Angler — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026 DeepWake: Ocean Angler ("the game") is published by Auto Technologies for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

What the game collects

Nothing that leaves your device. The game has no accounts of its own, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no in-app purchases. We run no servers and receive no data from the game. The only network features are optional Apple services, both off until you turn them on in Settings › Online: Game Center (leaderboards and achievements) and iCloud key-value storage (so your save follows you between your own devices). Both are provided by Apple under your Apple ID and Apple's privacy policy; the game only sends them your scores, achievement progress and your save data. The game plays fully without either.

Local co-op

Two-player co-op uses Apple's peer-to-peer networking (Multipeer Connectivity) between two devices on the same Wi-Fi or over Bluetooth. Only game state (boat position, catches, chart progress) and the player name you choose are exchanged, directly between the two devices. Nothing is relayed through any server.

What the game stores on your device

• your save: boat, hold, credits, catches, chart, missions, story progress and achievements
• settings: controls, difficulty, audio volumes, display and accessibility options
• photos you take in photo mode, saved to your Photos library only when you choose to save them (the system asks for permission the first time)

These are kept in the app's private storage and are removed when you uninstall the game, except photos you saved to your library.

Device permissions

Photos (add only): used only when you save a photo-mode shot. Local network and Bluetooth: used only when you host or join a co-op session. The game requests nothing else.

Children

The game is rated 9+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
